Here is the key bullet points of the attendance policy,
also, what each step turns into and how long it takes
to clear the occurrence, letter, or penalty day:
1) No Report:
Each instance is next step.
2) Late Call-in:
Each instance is next step.
3) Fail to work scheduled OT:
Each = next step
4) Call-ins:
Three occurrences within 6 months = next step
5) Leave early/Tardy:
Three occurrences within 6 months = next step
Below is an example of how the next step process
works from clean record to termination:
Clean Record
Next Step: Letter
(takes one year to clear record)
Next Step: Day Off
(one year reduces to a letter)
(2 years to clear record)
Next Step: 3 Days Off
( 1 year reduces to a day off)
(2 years reduces to a letter)
(3 years to clear record)
Once you get to a 3 day suspension your tardy's and missed days are combined occurrences for 12 months. Remember it takes three years to completely have a clean record again.
Next Step: Indefinite Suspension/Termination pending
• You must call in at least 1 hour prior to your shift start up.
• If you miss 3 days you must get a doctors note to return to work.
• In the event of a weather related call-in, the company will post if it will be covered as excused or not. They will also determine if you can take vacation day(s) for pay if needed. It isn't an automatic excused, even if a state of emergency is declared, it is determined by the local conditions and amount of call ins and shift you are on as well.
In the event that the weather related call-in is covered, then it will not affect your record for perfect attendance. The call-in will not trigger disciplinary action unless you call in again and it adds up to 3 call ins in the 6 month period
